Cockermouth Responders aim to attend as many call outs as possible. We keep track of the types of callout that we attend and the majority we attend are for chest pain, unconsciousness, convulsions or breathing problems.  The use of the First Responder team by the ambulance service has increased considerably in the last few years. In 2010 we were called out to 251 medical emergency calls in Cockermouth and the surrounding villages, whilst up to the beginning of October 2011 we had already been called to 222 emergencies!
